Highland Language Centre, formerly known as Inverness Language Centre, has been challenging people to learn and develop their language skills for over 20 years. It is our mission to inspire and engage all students in our group and individual classes through laughter, fun and friendship!

Meet The Team
Mo
Spanish & French Language Classes
Mo has a Law degree with Languages from The University of Edinburgh, a post-graduate Spanish teaching degree from The University of Dundee and Cambridge DELTA. Mo also has 33 years experience of teaching languages, from the top private schools in Edinburgh and Gerona, Spain to 17 years at Inverness College, UHI. Giving 120% commitment to helping students reach their potential, Mo teaches with energy, passion and attention to detail. She is proud to achieve consistent student satisfaction, excellent pass rates and high retention levels. Mo is invariably taken for a native French and Spanish speaker.
Al
ESOL and Beginner Language Classes
Originally an Archaeology graduate, Al has over 20 years experience of teaching overseas, including Turkey, Latvia, Colombia, China, and the USA, Al is CELTA qualified, with a love of teaching and learning from his students. Particularly experienced with low level classes, as well as specialist 1:1 tutoring, IELTS and TOEFL exams, Al hopes to make his classes effective, stimulating, and challenging. His classes are hugely popular.
Ursula
German Language Classes
Originally from Stuttgart, Ursula is an adopted Highlander. She has been here for 25 years and has lots of experience of school curriculum and has taught all ages, from children to adults. She is also a brilliant human being. Her students are very loyal and make good progress in her classes. She is gentle, kind and patient. Ursula’s classes are a must for German learners.
Robbie
Spanish Language Classes
Robbie is a Honours graduate in Law and Spanish from The University of Edinburgh. He has lived in Chile and Barcelona, and is completely bilingual. He has a wicked sense of humour and brings this sense of fun to his classes. He has been tutoring for four years. His passions include music and football.
Futura
Italian Language Classes
Futura is from Liguria, in the north-west of Italy. She moved to Inverness 9 years ago with her Italian partner and she is deeply in love with the Highlands. She has taught all ages, from children to adults first in Italy and now here in Scotland. She loves learning new languages herself and she is intrigued by different cultures. Her students find her classes inspiring and well organised. She has successfully established a loyal cohort of Italophiles through her fabulous classes and built up the range of classes on offer.
